Nutritious Meal Programs
Extensive database of age-specific, dietician-developed recipes helps you meet and exceed tough state nutrition guidelines.
- Treat Yourself Right™ (TYR) selections and menus meet rigorous wellness standards and provide students with healthy, convenient, and great-tasting choices. The TYR meet the following healthy criteria:
- Less than 35% calories from fat
- Less than 10% calories from saturated fat
- 0 trans fat
- Less than 35% sugar by weight, or less than 35% calories from sugar
- Ongoing menu development by registered dieticians, chefs, and culinary teams ensure menus are updated with innovative, healthful, and student-tested offerings
- Meals which meet or exceed the recommendations of the USDA and the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and provide balance through:
- Fresh vegetables, salads, and fruit options
- Low-fat meats and low- and nonfat dairy options
- Whole grains for increased fiber
- Elimination of added trans fat
- Reduction of processed foods, added fats, sugar, and salt
- Organic choices
